Arborist Trainee

GYF's Arborist Training Program is a six-week program that, through a rigorous curriculum, combines training in the technical aspects of tree care, such as chainsaw operation, chipper operation, grounds operation, etc., with a number of soft skills, such as professional development, financial literacy, health and nutrition, life coaching and character development. This combined curriculum ensures that upon graduation, each member of the cohort leaves having gained a well-rounded set of professional and personal skills to ensure their future success.

            In order to be eligible for the program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • 18-29 years old
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • Have valid Drivers License 
  • Completed High School Diploma or GED
  • Display Financial Need

  • Desire to pursue tree care as a profession
  • Displays drive and motivation
  • Ability to feasibly be punctual
  • Compatible Culture Index/Career Tract Test
