GIS Intern

 The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area seeks to extend the current Greening Youth Foundation position for the GIS easement internship. This internship is field-based and focuses on utility easements as critical habitat. Position duties include 1) inventorying utility easements including the collection of data on vegetation communities, 2) field checking and photo- documenting issues that have the potential to cause resource damage (e.g. invasive plant species in utility easements, 3) assisting in the introduction and management of sensitive plant species in utility easements, 5) assisting in rare plant surveys, 6) organizing, managing, and reporting on the program's data, 7) data entry, quality control, and organization of the park's easements and permits, 8) assistance with coordination of field activities with our utility holders and other partners, and 9) collection, management, and analysis of GIS data pertinent to utility easement management.
Greening Youth Foundation (GYF, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to nurture environmental stewardship among diverse youth and young adults, while exposing them to conservation careers.
