Position Description

Position
The PSI Program Assistant is a proactive communicator who can appropriately engage with varied constituents (internal team, external partners, interns, and students) and provide leadership over various projects.
The PSI Program Assistant will also interact with students as a mentor, facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive internship experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assistant Duties

  • Compile and create lesson plans based on our CLEAN and partner curriculum
  • Organize and deliver lesson plans materials to site
  • Implement organized lesson plans to partner sites
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key school/recreational faculty, administrators, and student organizations
  • Increase PSI program presence by attending related community events
  • Communicate consistently with upper-level management via meetings, conference calls, and/or reports
  • Document events/sites with photos and reports
  • Host/assist intern orientation/webinars/meetings
  • Execute tasks given by the PSI program manager and colleagues

Supervision Duties

  • Assist in the recruitment of qualified interns for the PSI program
  • Collect and maintain candidate resumes and contact details for intern recruitment database
  • Create/Record/Maintain intern hours/shifts
  • Manage and review timesheets for on-time submission and accuracy;
  • Serve as the first point of contact for intern questions and challenges, as well as feedback for/from interns on their experience
  • Provide consistent feedback and coaching to students around internship performance via phone, email, and site visits
  • Ensure intern success by providing day-to-day support of interns, including but not limited to: tracking intern absences and performance issues
  • Supervise interns while on site

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in managing career development programs
  • Self-starter with outstanding motivation
  • Experience working with children
  • Proven ability to chart and execute strategically
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with students of all ages
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in and knowledge of environmental conservation
  • Personal vehicle

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $15.00 per Hour
  • 15 hours per week (10am 4pm: Monday Friday)
  • Ability to Telecommute 1 day a week after 30 days
